The US's rising corn export forecasts

The USDA has, after initially forecasting a 4.7Mt slowdown in US corn exports this season, continued to upgrade that forecast (top chart), thanks to an unexpectedly strong export pace.
The latest upgrade, in the December Wasde report, showed an 8.7Mt rise in exports this season, from last season’s record high of 72.6Mt (chart below).
